Bradley Beach Jack Wright Swim
Bradley Beach offers a one-mile ocean race each summer. This no-frills swim has grown increasingly popular in the last few years. It's well-run and friendly. Bradley Beach is a relaxed and pleasant town.

- Registration
- Register on the boardwalk at Kent Avenue, on the north end of the promenade near the intersection of Ocean and Cliff Avenues. Registration opens at 8:00 AM. Cash only on race day. Discounted pre-registration is available by mail.
- Parking
- Park for free until 11 AM in the (otherwise metered) lot along Cliff Avenue and adjacent to registration. Or find free parking nearby on streets west of Ocean Avenue; expect to hunt a little.
- Restrooms
- Start: Public restrooms with separate changing rooms are adjacent to the registration area, at the south end of the parking lot. Finish: Public restrooms are on the promenade just a half-block south of the finish. Beach shower at finish.
- Bags
- Bags are transported from start to finish. Look for designated beach patrol pickup truck on the beach.
- Wetsuits
- Permitted, no penalty for age-group awards, not popular.
- Start
- Start on beach behind registration. Running start from beach into surf.
- Course
- The course runs southward parallel to the beach between Cliff Avenue and Evergreen Avenue. Swim out to starting buoy and turn right around it. Proceed south one mile passing three rock jetties to second and final buoy. Turn right around buoy and head into beach.
- Finish
- Running finish from surf onto beach. Bags, water, and awards on beach at finish.
- Timing
- Time clock, popsicle stick, no body marking. A race official at the finish line gives you a popsicle stick with your overall place number. Take this to the tables behind finish to record your place with your name.
- Amenities
- Colored T-shirt with annual design. Bottled water, fruit.
